Stone Walled House - Case Study
Living in a large solid stone walled house, our client was using large amounts of oil to heat his home. With the constant changes in oil prices, our client decided to look for an alternative solution. When speaking to local experts Korrie Renewables, a biomass system was recommended. With ample room available in a back room, a Trianco Greenflame Eco 40kw boiler was installed.
The Trianco Greenflame Eco is a perfect product for the domestic market with its generous 221kg fuel store and up to 90% modulation range. This has been designed as a very simple solution which only requries filled with fuel once a week during the heating season. With a simple maintenance routine and large ash pan, this boiler is incredibly easy to care for.
The system is also fitted with a 500 litre buffer tank, which acts as a store for heat that is generated by the boiler. The boiler can also modulate down to 3kW during low demand situations and in the summer months. This makes the Eco series of boilers highly efficient.
The biggest advantage of converting to biomass is the high fuel cost savings and generous income available from the Government Renewable Heat Incentive. By changing to pellets, our client will save up to £1,600 a year on their fuel costs alone. The available RHI income is worked out using a deemed calculation which asseses the energy requirements to heat you home and hot water per annum. This figure is stated on a required Energy Performance Certificate. Our Client can expect an annual income of around £10,200. This means that the biomass system will pay for itself in under three years. When you consider the RHI scheme runs for 7 years, the client can look forward to recieving an additional financial payback for their investment.
