Korrie Mechanical & Plumbing Ltd (part of the Ingen group), have a long tradition of developing their staff and providing them with a career path to progress through the business.
There have been many examples of this over the years, but one of the most recent success stories has been Andrew Davidson.
Andrew has worked with the Korrie leadership team for nine years and joined Korrie in year one of the company’s inception back in 2010. During these formative years, Andrew has undertaken almost every role within the office as he has been mentored and moulded to allow him to become a senior member of the team.
On route, Andrew was able to study for an honours degree in Building Services Quantity Surveying which has enhanced his development as he gained vital qualifications whilst gaining invaluable experience in the working environment at the same time.
Andrew admits he will be eternally grateful to the company’s hierarchy for giving him all the tools he needs to succeed. Davidson said: “Peter Corbett, Donnie Fraser and the company have been very good in their support of me. They like to put a challenge in front of you, but also give you the room to get stuck in and have a go at it. To be where I am at today in the business and being introduced as the Plumbing Manager to the Apprentices is a great moment for me. I have been through all of the roles in the office and I have got a real understanding of the business from that journey."
“There has been a lot of nurturing along the way and I have had some fantastic mentors throughout. When I first came into the firm there was Iain Middleton, Peter Corbett and of course, Donnie Fraser, who between them have a combined industry experience of over 100 years and to have the chance to tap into that wealth of knowledge has been really invaluable for me. I have learned a lot from them and cannot thank them enough for all their help."
“There is a real pathway to progress in this company and there is no ceiling put in your way. As long as you put yourself forward for tasks, then there is no limit to where you can go here if you apply yourself in the right way.”
