100kW Korrie Energy Kabin & District Heating
I&L Burnett, Aberdeenshire - Case Study
Established in 1986 by Ian and Linda Burnett, I&L Burnett are a successful and trusted haulage company based in Westhill, Aberdeenshire. When looking to expand their yard, Mr Burnett looked for a new heating system which could provide affordable heating. When talking to Korrie Renewables, a biomass district heating system was recommended.
To make the most of this new system, underground pipe was installed to Mr Burnett’s home which was located next to the yard creating a district heating system. With little space available for a plant room, an all in one Korrie Kabin was used.
This self contained unit contains a 100kW Herz Firematic biomass boiler which is automatically fed with pellets from it’s in-built 12 tonne fuel store. A 2000litre buffer vessel will ensure a steady supply of heat for each property. Fabricated in Inverness, the Kabin was transported to site when required which saved countless journeys by Korrie operatives.
