25kW Commercial Biomass System
Rothienorman Village Hall - Case Study
Rothienorman Village Hall serves the local community of Rothienorman as a place for local groups to hold meetings, events and a childcare group through the day. Previously running on an electric heating system, the community looked for an alternative which could reduce running costs and also reduce their carbon footprint.
Korrie proposed replacing the current system with a standalone biomass system, installed in the existing plant/store room. This would provide heating and hot water to the building, whilst reducing their annual fuel costs and making them eligible for Commercial Renewable Heat Incentive payments.
A 25kW Trianco Greenflame Eco boiler was installed along with a 500L buffer vessel. The boiler is fed by a 4 tonne hopper using a flexible auger system. The purchase of the bulk hopper means that the system will only require refuelling a couple of times per year.
The local community were very happy with the change in heating, Korrie recieved excellent comments from members of the community groups:
"The children are so much happier and no longer sit on the radiators."
- Manager of the out of School Club
"It is so cosy - my husband wants to bring his bed!"
- Member of Rothienorman SWI
