When building their dream home, Mr & Mrs MacGillivary wanted to install a system which would ensure they have low energy costs and little carbon emissions. They asked Korrie Renewables who are experts in renewables, for help. We suggested installing a 12 panel solar photovoltaic system which will provide a free carbon neutral source of electricity.
The 3kW solar PV system is made up of 12 high performance JA Solar mono panels. This will have an estimated output of 2500kWh per annum. The panels were mounted on a Schletter frame using a Fronius IGTL 3.6 Inverter. This system will reduce their annual electricity bill by around £230 along with a reduction of 1785kg of CO2 emissions per annum. In addition to the savings, the system shall also be eligible for Feed-In Tariff payments which are expected to be £520 per annum. Mr & Mrs MacGillivary also recieved a payment for exporting unused electricity back on to the national grid which amounts to an estimated £80 per annum.
