199kW Korrie Energy Kabin
MacKay's Hotel, Wick - Case Study
Built in the 19th century, MacKay's Hotel in Wick was suffering from high fuel bills as the building was being heated using a combination of oil fired radiators and electrical storage heaters.
Mr Lamont (above) decided it was time for an upgrade and looked for an alternative heating system. Korrie Renewables were contacted to get an experts opinion. A Biomass system was suggested with it's low cost fuel, generous RHI payments and low carbon emissions.
With very lilttle space available inside the hotel for the equipment, a Korrie Energy Kabin was used. This bespoke all-in-one plantroom was constructed in Inverness to a high standard and once completed, the Kabin was transported to Wick and the difficult process of craning it into position began. Once in place, Mr Lamont could start reaping the rewards of biomass!
Mr Lamont said;
"Korrie were very good to work with, the team that was involved with our installation were very clean, tidy and attentive. They discussed problems when required and made things very easy."
