The biggest advantage of converting to biomass is the high fuel cost savings and generous income available from the Government's Renewable Heat Incentive. By changing to pellets from oil, the biomass system will pay for itself in under five years. When you consider the RHI scheme runs for 7 years, Mr Taylor can look forward to recieving an additional financial payback for his investment.
Living off the mains gas grid, Mr Taylor relied on oil for his heating and hot water needs. With the constant changes in the price of oil, he looked for an alternative solution. Speaking to local heating system experts Korrie Renewables, a biomass system was recommended. This can be installed in place of an oil boiler with minimal disruption. It also offer lower fuel bills, lower carbon emissions and an income through the Government's Renewable Heat Incentive.
The Trianco Greenflame Biomass Boiler is a perfect product for domestic properties with its small footprint and external options. It contains a generous 100kg pellet hopper which means that the boiler only needs filled on a weekly basis. The boiler has been expertly designed as a simple solution with extremely low maintenance requirements.
To further improve the efficiency of the biomass system, a ACV SLE hot water cylinder was installed. This is a tank in tank which means it also contains a thermal store. This store acts as a battery which stores heat produced by the biomass system. This means the boiler does not need to ignite as often, thus saving pellets.
