Living off the gas grid, Mr & Mrs Rochford were using oil to heat their mid terraced stone walled house. With the constant changes in oil prices, they decided to look for an alternative. After speaking to local experts at Korrie Renewables, a biomass system was recommended. With space inside the property at a premium, an external Trianco Greenflame boiler was suggested.
The Trianco Greenflame is a perfect product for domestic properties as it has internal and external models available. With its generous 100kg hopper, the boiler only requires filling with pellets as little as once a week. This boiler has been expertly designed as a simple solution with extremely low maintenance requirements and an ash bin that only requires emptying once a week.
Unlike many other biomass systems, the boiler does not require a bulky buffer tank to work efficiently. In addition to being over 90% efficient, the boiler can modulate down to 8kW during low demand period and in the summer months.

Mr & Mrs Rochford - Case Study
The biggest advantage of converting to biomass is the high fuel cost savings and generous income available from the Government Renewable Heat Incentive. By changing to pellets, Mr & Mrs Rochford are looking to save up to £565 a year on their fuel costs alone. The available RHI income is worked out using a deemed calculation which asseses the energy requirements to heat your home and hot water per annum. This figure is stated on a required Energy Performance Certificate. Mr & Mrs Rochford can expect an annual income of around £4,800. This means that the biomass system will pay for itself in under three years. When you consider the RHI scheme runs for 7 years, the Rochfords can look forward to recieving an additional financial payback for their investment.
